FOSSBazaar is a work group of the Linux Foundation, maintaining a community platform for open source experts and enterprises aiming at open source education. It’s focus is on governance best practices, automation tools, and open communication to accelerate adoption of free and open source software in the enterprise. Specifically, FOSSBazaar aims to:
FOSSology are tools around what the name says “the study of free and open source software”. Conceptually, I understand you load any FOSS into the application/repository, have it analyzed and the results filled into the FOSSology database and then you get some web output on governance relevant findings.
Both FOSSBazaar and FOSSology are spearheaded by HP and include several industry leaders in open source service providers and projects.
Tags: business, open sourceAlfresco today announced the completion of a $9 million Series C round of financing led by SAP Ventures, bringing total funding to $19 million. Existing investors Accel Partners and Mayfield Fund also joined the round.
Alfresco will use the proceeds to fund continued growth into the enterprise content management market, including product development and acceleration of global expansion plans, particularly in the German, US and Asian markets.

We’ve engaged in the Web 2.0 discussion from the very early Optaros days and our understanding of how UGC, social and RIA should be leveraged for businesses is today manifested in our Enterprise 2.0 practice. Our website however was not reflecting our expertize properly and in fact we struggled for a while with what the corporate voice should be, what role Marketing should play, how much control should be maintained on the content, what expectations are for navigation and numerous other questions around the next generation corporate website
With the new optaros.com website we have started a living experiment to determine what a corporate website should be for a professional services firm in a Web 2.0 world.
