The guys from Alfresco have updated their Alfresco packages on SourceForge. An interesting one is the Community Network Bundle for Windows. Its an installer including all the components you need (MySQL, Tomcat, JDK, MySQL, OpenOffice.org and ImageMagick) to run Alfresco on a windows machine. I’ve downloaded the 172 MB here and I got a complete installation up and running on my XP partition within 11 minutes. You can choose from installing Alfresco as a service or not and it looks like you will be able to run several instances in parallel.

This is what I call Simple Open Source.
